Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline focuses on "strange experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly featured a quest that unmistakably referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
